Your Wedding Style

Over the next few weeks I am going to be sharing a series of posts to help you plan the wedding of your dreams, first up Your Wedding Style.

You have a beautiful ring on your finger (congratulations!!). What happens next? It’s time to start planning the wedding of your dreams. First stop, Pinterest for inspiration. This is where you will probably discover your ‘wedding style’. Once you have created a gorgeous mood board it will become clear what sort of wedding you would love to have. Be it a chic city celebration, an elegant castle soiree, a manor house event, a relaxed back yard wedding, a black tie romantic affair, a boho festival style shindig, a barefoot beach wedding or a wedding abroad. Once you have settled on the type of wedding you would love, the rest of the big decisions (dress, venue, décor) will all fall into place.

Your wedding style will emerge after poring over bridal magazines, Pinterest, Instagram, attending wedding fairs and reflecting on weddings you have be to as a guest. From the hundreds of images you have collected, you can create a mood board. This will illustrate your desired colour pallet, combined with textures, foliage, flowers, cakes, fabrics, stationary and other inspiring images which fit with your wedding vision. Take this mood board with you when meeting your suppliers. Wedding planners and stylists will work the look of your day around this. It’s also extremely useful for florists, stationers, photographers, videographers, caterers, musicians, we all want to see what your dream day would look like.

Once you have a clear idea in your head of the atmosphere of your big day it will be time to start searching for your venue. More on that next time….

Here are some images from lovely wedding I have photographed which really show a clear wedding style.

Hannah & Tom had a modern and stylish city wedding with incredible structural flowers by Boom Blooms, a concrete cake made by the bride herself Butter Beautiful, gorgeous stationary by Oh Wonder Calligraphy and pops of copper.

Katherine & Manuel celebrated their wedding at the stunning Highcliffe Castle. It was all about tuxes and pastel hues thanks to this stunning Naomi Neoh dress.

Charlotte & Gareth got married at the beautiful Nottley Abbey. Their day was elegant and stylish with a classic white and green colour scheme.

Anna and Luke had a rustic yet beautifully styled farm wedding with beautiful gold accents, amazing flowers by Laura Smith Flowers and a boho Claire Pettibone dress.

Sarah & Stuart had a super laid back beach wedding with wild flowers and bare feet styled by the brilliant Matthew Oliver Weddings.

Max and Rebecca had a wonderfully elegant back garden wedding.

Donna & Rob had their wedding celebration on the beautiful Greek island of Paxos which was an absolute dream to photograph with my partner Helen.

Hopefully these collections of images will show how different and unique each wedding is. It’s all about the styling and details.

Love Camilla x
